Opinion is a response to stimulation put through personal interpretation.[1] Therefore, views or judgments in opinion are not supported by facts or positive knowledge. Opinions are inconclusive and often used in a variety of subjective matters that cannot be verified. It comes because opinion is influenced by a person's thinking, perspective, feeling, attitude, experience, desire, confidence, value, understanding without any concrete evidence.
2.2.1 Opinion Types
The opinion line comes in several types, this is influenced by the opinion expressed. There are two of their own, which is:
1. An individual or individual opinion sentence
The first type of opinion sentence is the individual opinion sentence also known as the individual opinion sentence. As with its name, the opinion sentence of this one isa sentence of opinion that is conveyed individually or individually, so as not to be conveyed by a group.
The content of this opinion sentence then meets all the characteristics of the opinion sentence that will be described below. Its contents in general contain opinions, ideas, or estimates conveyed by a person. As for an example,
- Looks like you're going to get sick in the rain like that.
- It's supposed to rain this afternoon.
- You'll get fat eating like that all the time.
2. General opinion phrase
The second type of opinion sentence is the general opinion phrase. The phrase of public opinion itself is a line of opinions that both opinions and ideas are embraced by many or even by all. It means that an opinion is believed in and trusted by almost everyone.
It is usually mythological, a matter that is not necessarily true and believed to be true. So that everything which is basically an opinion which has come to be recognized as true by many will eventually fit into this particular line of opinions.
Here are some examples:
- Nighttime bathing habits can increase the risk of rheumatism.
- Girls should not eat at the door, it's hard to find a mate.
- The majority of the country's favorite college graduates can be successful careers and financially successful.
2.2.2 Opinion Based
The opinion sentence then has a number of distinctive traits that make it different from both a fact sentence and another type of sentence. The following are a number of opinions' defining traits that are necessarily required to be understood and identified:
1. Contains personal opinion or the opinion of another
The first characteristic of an opinion sentence is that it contains opinions, whether they are personal or someone else's. So the encounter is a sentence and is an opinion. Or the sentence contains an opinion so it is likely an opinion sentence.
2. It is subjective
Furthermore, the characteristics of opinion traits are subjective. So the inverse opinion of the opinion sentence is an interpretation from either side. So it is not to lay out opinions from both sides of an event or event.
The statement in the sentence of opinion is a personal opinion and is therefore very subjective. And then opinion words require the opinion of the subject of the opinion of the reader. Since such a subjective opinion is not yet certain, it is necessary to review it and also request the transmission of facts from a reliable source.
3. Using words of relative nature
The next characteristic of opinion sentences is often the use of words of relative nature. A word is said to be relative when a word or phrase may change and depend upon who speaks it.
As for words that include this relative trait are more, rather, most, usually, very, possibly, it should be, according to, probably, impossible, etc. Thus the relative nature of the sentence can change when spoken by others.
It must be acknowledged that one characteristic of the opinion sentence is that it has a changing meaning. Because when spoken by a can mean "b," only when spoken by c can mean "b" and so on. Because the opinion phrase always presents the opinion or response of a person.
As for the example of sentences using the word in relative terms, it is as follows: prior to elections, a number of black campaign activities are likely to become intense.
4. Can't be verified
The opinion sentence also has a characteristic that the information on it cannot be verified. It might also be said that the information in a sentence cannot be verified.
5. No source or source.
An opinion sentence is also called an opinion sentence if the information presented has no source or source. The new fact sentence can be said to be a fact if able to include an obvious source or source. When these sources are difficult to submit, then the sentence is not a fact but an opinion sentence.
6. Showing me things that aren't necessarily happening
Another line of opinion is that it shows something that doesn't necessarily happen. That is, in the opinion phrase it often contains information about a prediction of events. It is not necessarily possible for the prophecy to come true.
7. Of responses to events
The phrase of opinion is also often indicated by a response to an event.
