ADVERB

Understanding adverb

 Adverb isa word that can be differentiated by nouns, works, and adjectives. Usually we use the words in front of it or the adverb itself.

 Usually the adverb has -ly endings like: clearly, quickly, swiftly, and so on. However, some do not have -ly end.

 function

    It may be customary for you to do so in speaking or writing.

 But do you know that the adverb is divided into some type, that is:

 -  adverb of time

 Is an auxiliary word used to give additional information about time.

 Maltese:

 Since the tickets price went up.

 I can finish all of my hopes and go home early.

 -  adverb of manner

 Is an auxiliary word that provides additional information about the condition or how an event occurred.

 Simply, this adverb is used to answer questions from 'how.'

 That is adverb, namely, extremities, extremities, extremities, fast, hard, quickly, slowly, inborn, healthy, well, and so forth.

 Maltese:

 * anything you can do, I can do better.

 * my sister and I are always late because she drives very slowly.

 -  adverb of place

 Is the word help that answers the place or the 'when' question in English.

 This adverb's words are above, away, below, down, here, inside, near, outside, there, up, and so on.

 Maltese:

- Adverb of degree

   Biasanya kata bantu ini digunakan untuk menjawab pertanyaan “how much.”

Namun, tidak selalu pertanyaan tersebut menanyakan nominal, melainkan bisa digunakan untuk mempertanyakan intensitas dari suatu kejadian.

Example : 

* She looks extremely tired after cleaning the whole house.

* Mom told me she missed my brother too.


- Interrogative adverb

Jika kamu menyangka bahwa adverb merupakan kata penjelas dari sebuah kata kerja, kamu salah besar. Adverb bisa juga berbentuk kata tanya, seperti how, when, why, dan where.

Example :

* Why are you here?

* When is it going to stop?

* Where did the money come from?



- Conjunctive Adverb

   Adverb ini berfungsi sebagai kata transisi menggabungkan serta mengaitkan klausa-klausa independen.

   Adverb ini mencangkupi kata-kata seperti accordingly, also, alternatively, certainly, consequently, finally, nevertheless, moreover, previously, therefore, dan sebagainya.

Example :

* I can’t leave the house today, therefore I delegate the meeting to the vice president.

* She certainly has what it takes to become an actress.



CONJUNCTION 

Conjunction understanding

 Conjunction or conjunction is a word used to connect equivalent language units (words with words, phrases with phrases, clauses with clauses, sentences with sentences, and so on)

 Conjunction types and example

 A. compound conjuctions

 Compound conjuction isa continuous link between equal subject and subject, verb with verb, object with object, adverb with adverb, adverb with adverb, ctive with ctive, etc.

 Compound conjuction divided into 2, among other things:

1. Coordinate Conjuction
Anggota:

F – A – N – B – O – Y – S

 Information :

For (karena)     : She was absent yesterday, for she was sick 

And (dan)       : Mr. Wilson invited me and him

Nor (tidak juga)  : He can not see nor hear.

But (tetapi)      : The shoes are old but comfortable 

Or (atau)        : Is sam sleeping or going somewhere 

Yet (tetapi)      : She didn't study, yet she passed the exam

So (sehingga)    : He was tired, so he went to bed


Note: 

a) the fanboys always stand in the middle of a sentence or between two sentences. It's not right to put them in the beginning of a sentence. Example:

CORRECT     : The child hid behind his mother’s skirt, for he was afraid of the dog.

INCORRECT : For he was afraid of the dog, the child hid behind his mother’s skirt.

1. Yet another conjuction could be used to replace it at the beginning of a sentence. 

Example:

 Because he was afraid of the dog, the child hid behind his mother's skirt.

2. conjuction for, yet, and so always linking sentences and comas always starts them. and, when connecting two sentences, it has the following punctuation :

Example : 

 it was pouring rain, and there was a lot of wind.

B. Correlative Conjunction 

Conjuction consists of separate couples that pair up.

Members :

Both… and…

Not only… but also…

Either… or…

Neither… nor…


* the plural and singularity is determined from the subject's rear.

 Example:

Both the driver and the passager were injured in the accident.

Not only she but also I am studying chemistry.

Either Mr. Anderson or Ms. Wiggins is going to teach our class today.

Neither my sister nor my parents have been here.


C. Complex Conjunction 

Conjunction assistant word which is the bitant between the main and the subordinate clauses (children).

 Certification of konjfunction confunction, spirit: when, while, what, when, where, it is, after, before, until, because, though, if, etc. Over there.

Pola : 

Main Cl: S + V + (O) + (A)

Sub Cl: Conj + S + V + (O) + (A)

Sentence: Main Cl + Sub Cl atau Sub Cl + Main Cl

Example :

He was talking on the phone when I arrived.

We stayed there until we finished our work.

After she graduates, she will get a job.

I had left before he came.

He went to bed because he was sleepy
